Searches and shared routes

Search requests are processed to find train journeys and hiking sections. Searches are not saved as shared routes. When you choose Share route, the selected itinerary and its original search settings are saved in a database so anyone with the link can open the same result. A link may reveal your starting station and planned departure time to its recipients. Shared links expire after 90 days.

Usage analytics

Our self-hosted Umami analytics measures page visits and actions such as completed searches, sharing and GPX downloads. We send broad result counts, not station names, departure times, route names or share IDs. Shared route URLs are grouped together and query strings are removed. Umami does not use analytics cookies or persistent visitor IDs.

Other services

The map loads background tiles from a map provider. That provider receives the usual browser request information, including your IP address. The map attribution identifies the provider and OpenStreetMap contributors. Our server keeps operational access and error logs for security and troubleshooting.
